Girls Week Day 4 & 5

We definitely wore them down because on Thursday nobody wanted to go anywhere! So we chilled at the house in the morning, playing games and reading books.

I took Anna over to get an order from a clothing store. Sidebar-I'm grateful stores are making more slim fit clothing, but we're still struggling with having those cuts available in stores to try on before buying. So we're currently having to order a lot of clothing-thank you online shopping-and then wait for it's delivery to see if it fits. Then we have to go to the store to return it when it doesn't fit and order more sizes. Most definitely not the easiest process, but we're getting there and I've gotten some great deals on jean shorts for Anna which have to be a certain length to wear to school.

Thursday afternoon I took Riley and Anna over to Rusty's house for some VBS preparation. Anna will be helping with the skit this year and they had some painting to do. I know she's glad to still be participating in VBS even if it's in a different way this year.

Channing and Paige hung with Rachael to do a very fun spa. They painted toes, gave massages and had a waiting room with signs. It was girly heaven. After all the separate fun, we joined back up for some sweet treats at Sonic. Gotta love a good blast.

Friday morning, Patrick is off work so he took all the girls over to our lake to do some kayaking. Anna and Paige showed their cousins how to play gaga ball and then they set off to find a ton of animals while paddling. I'd say it was a successful week!

Girls Week Day 3

I think we have some girls are that are getting progressively more worn out. It seems wake up time is getting later and later. They also take a bit to get warmed up for any adventures we might take. Must be having fun!

We started the day with a walk in a near by neighborhood. It's got lots of shade, great sidewalks and fun houses to look at as well as a park along the way. We liked picking out which houses we liked the best and stopping for some seesaw action. At the end is a coffee shop in their town square. This is where I took the girls a couple of weeks ago and they insisted we bring the cousins when they were in town. Check! The girls all enjoyed some peach tea or strawberry lemonade which perked them up.

After some lunch at home, we headed off to bowling. It was funny watching them all with their distinct styles of getting the ball down the lane. We've got to get our practice in before we take my mom down in a fierce bowling competition.

Next we did a quick stop at the farmers market for some fresh peaches. We may not be attending the Peach Festival this year, but we have peaches!

Then we ended the day with Rachael's homemade spaghetti sauce. It was extra delicious this time around with my homegrown herbs. And I am very pleased that she jarred some for my freezer. Yummo! And check out how cute those tie-dye shirts turned out!!

Girls Week Day 2

On Day 2 we headed out of the house for a while. I grabbed a groupon to our local trampoline park so we started the day at the Plex for an hour of jumping. What I didn't realize was the Groupon had expired (thanks for honoring it!) and that we needed to buy special socks (thank for giving us those for free after the mix-up). We pretty much had the place to ourselves with the exception of one small camp which we could easily avoid by moving to different areas. The girls had a great time trying their ninja warrior skills, playing tag and jumping around. 

Next up we headed over to Hobby Lobby because let's be honest, you can browse in there forever! The girls picked out some stickers for their joint journal at the lake house. Then we stopped into lunch at Red Robin, Yum! I'm pretty sure they had burned off some serious energy because we had a couple of double helpings of noodles. 

Bellies full, we did a little walking and window shopping around our outdoor shopping area. We tried out all the smells in Bath and Body Works, found some cute t-shirts in Palmetto Moon and saw lots of unique things in World Market. 

The afternoon was quiet with some rest and play time. Rach and I were able to head out to dinner on our own at Mr. Friendly's while Patrick made the girls homemade pizza. They played outside some, but Patrick said they were most interested in reading on their own. I'll talk it! 

It was a good day! 

Girls Week!

Rachael and my nieces arrived on Sunday afternoon and Girls Week 2019 officially began. There were lots of giggles and a whirlwind of frenzy as the girls unpacked and got set up in the playroom. They enjoy sleeping together and we can hear the chatting and laughing well past tucking them in bed.

Monday we laid low at the house and did our traditional t-shirt tie dying as well as some backyard games. Every year the girls ask to do the same pre-school activity we do every year, shaving cream paint. And every year it gets messier and messier. Good thing we are outside!

We also broke out the whipped cream and gummy worms so they could dig with their faces. I think Paige ended up eating the entire plate of whipped cream!

And of course they played in our little pool and sprinkler. One day I guess they will be too big for this, but for now it works.

Our afternoon was spent watching the new How To Drain Your Dragon movie. I love this series so it was fun to watch it all together. We also played several games to include Clue, Exploding Kittens and several others. Patrick arrived home to a house full of girl crazy and dinner on the table. He was gracious enough to take all the girls on a walk to the pond after dinner.

It was a fun day and we're all just happy to be together!
