We hit the ground running once we returned from DC. The girls and I took care of groceries and the dentist on Tuesday. We had our dental cleanings and they have become progressively more of a pain in the butt. The girls have had to get x-rays just for baseline images, but they are neither trusting nor like medical stuff. So it takes an act of Congress to convince them to stand there against their will. I don't blame them. I have never been a huge dentist fan myself, but whew, it's taxing.
With the dirty work behind us we focused on having friends over some fun. Ashley and Madison headed off to a retreat with the youth. John has to work and this left us to happily watch Jonathan and Caroline for a couple of days.
On Wednesday we went to the $1 movie to see Lego Batman. It's hilarious and always one of our favs! The kids did a bunch of playing at home after that and we were happy to host them for dinner once the dads returned home from work. By the end of the day we were celebrating Paige's lost tooth and two previous teeth that Jonathan lost just the day before.
Zookeepers reunited! They would play hours of zoo when they were little.
On Thursday, the kids baked chocolate chip cookies, wrote books and ate lunch. By the afternoon, I could tell they needed some outside time so we headed to a friends pool to splash around. When we came back they all wanted to watch their performance of The Greatest Showman.
We enjoyed our time with the Powell kiddos and were happy to help out. Yay for summer!
