Fun with Friends

We had a fun time hanging out with the Powell kiddos Friday night. John and Ashley went out of town for a wedding so we got to keep their kids on Friday night and part of Saturday. First up Paige had a piano lesson with Madison. We've hired her to teach Paige who has had some interest in music for a little while. We thought this would be a good way to introduce her to music without getting too committed. It was a success and Paige already knows two songs!

Paige and Anna had earned free tickets to the USC Girls Volleyball game on Friday night. After securing a few more free tickets, we were set for a fun evening. It made it easy that we could use the Powell van to transport everybody and we parked in my garage with my pass. So double check! We also met Sally and her dad there...more the merrier. I was really impressed with the game. There were lots of people, a pep band, promotions, music, etc. It was loud and exciting. Plus the girls won!

After a a few sets, we headed home. Both Jonathan and Paige has asked to leave so we knew it was only a matter of time before melting down. On the way home, we had tired and wound up kids when I turned on a CD with The Witch Doctor. It was the moment that we all sang "ohh eeee, ohhh ahhh ahh" that I knew I was living my best minivan life. Ha!

The kiddos eventually fell asleep around 9:45 and then we were up bright and early to go to Jonathan's soccer game. I managed to squeeze in a yummy breakfast of pumpkin pancakes, sausage and fruit before getting to the fields. Funny enough we were the first ones there so I was afraid we had gotten the time and place wrong! J played great and it was fun to watch his little team.

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing and running around with friends. They really do love each other. :)

Later on Saturday night we hung out with more friends for some fire time. It's getting cold enough to snuggle around outside. The kids ran around in the dark while we adults chatted and laughed. More sweet blessings in wonderful friends.
